Assisted Living Waiver homes with open beds

A free, live list of California assisted living homes that told us they have a bed open for a Medi-Cal Assisted Living Waiver (ALW) resident. Each home reports its own beds, and a listing drops off after 30 days without an update.

Chapter is a directory. We don't place residents, make referrals or take fees from anyone. Always confirm the bed, the ALW tier and room-and-board terms directly with the home.

Built for the people who place ALW residents

One place to see who has an ALW bed today

ALW care coordinators

When a client comes off the waitlist or is ready to leave a nursing facility, check here first for homes that say they have an ALW bed now.

Placement agencies

Use this list like any other directory. It's free, there's no account, and Chapter takes no fees from homes, agencies or families.

Hospital & SNF discharge planners

Find ALW homes near your facility with a confirmed open bed and a direct phone number, without waiting on callbacks.

Open ALW beds

No ALW beds reported yet

This list is new, and homes are just starting to report their beds. In the meantime, every home approved for ALW is in our county directories with its phone number, or you can search ALW homes by city or ZIP.

Run an ALW-approved home? List your open beds for free

Email hello@chaptersenior.com with your home's name and license number. We'll send a private link. Tap it whenever a bed opens or fills, with no login, and tick “open to an ALW resident.” Your bed shows here and on your Chapter listing right away. There are no fees, now or later, and no per-lead or move-in charges.

Families who don't have ALW approval yet apply through a Care Coordination Agency. There is a statewide waitlist; see how ALW works.

Listings are sourced from public California licensing records. Pricing is estimated from regional averages until each community verifies its own.
